‘STAV’ – Working with Michael Stavrou (2016)

In late 2016, I teamed up with the one and only Michael Stavrou “STAV” author of the best selling book “Mixing With Your Mind” where we worked tirelessly across 3 days to record an ep for a 9 piece band from Byron Bay called Hunter and Smoke. I played the roll of senior engineer, Stav produced the track, and my assistant ran the coffees and odd jobs. It was amazing to work with such a high calibre of sound engineer and tap into his the experience, he has recorded so many household name artists from the past 50 years. This was a job that I wont ever forget and am so grateful for the experience.
Alex Edwards – Fealty Fjords (2021)

In 2021, I collaborated with Brisbane singer-songwriter Alex Edwards on his third studio album, Fealty Fjords, a 12-track LP that showcased Alex’s distinctive songwriting and musicianship.
Throughout the project, I worked closely with Alex as Producer and Mix Engineer, helping shape the overall sound of the album while refining each track to achieve a polished, professional production. From developing arrangements to crafting the final mixes, the project was a rewarding collaboration that allowed us to bring Alex’s creative vision to life.
One of the album’s standout tracks, “The Particle,” received significant recognition after being nominated for Best New Original Song at the 2022 QMusic Awards. While the song did not take home the award, the nomination provided valuable exposure for Alex and served as recognition of the quality of the production and songwriting behind the project.
Working on Fealty Fjords was a fantastic opportunity to contribute to an award-nominated release and further develop my experience producing, mixing and delivering commercially competitive music.
Chasing Closure – “Count Your Blessings” (2014)

Working with Brisbane heavy rock band Chasing Closure in 2014 remains one of the defining milestones of my career as a Producer and Mix Engineer.
Collaborating closely with the band, I helped shape the sound of their single “Count Your Blessings,” focusing on capturing the energy, power and intensity that defined their music while delivering a polished, radio-ready production.
The project’s standout achievement came when “Count Your Blessings” received commercial airplay on Triple M, providing the band with valuable mainstream exposure and marking an exciting milestone for everyone involved. Seeing a project progress from the recording studio to commercial radio was an incredibly rewarding experience and reinforced the importance of delivering productions that can compete at a professional level.
This collaboration remains a highlight of my portfolio and reflects my passion for producing high-quality recordings that help artists reach new audiences.

Studio Session with Seal (2018)

In 2018, I had the privilege of hosting an exclusive studio rehearsal session with internationally acclaimed recording artist Seal and his band while they were touring Australia ahead of their headline performance at Byron Bay Bluesfest.
The band utilised my studio tracking room to rehearse and prepare for the festival, providing a unique opportunity to capture live performances in an intimate recording environment. Callen Whiting Singles – “Crooked Mess” & “Love Anarchy” (2025)
Callen Whiting is a talented multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter with whom I have had the pleasure of collaborating for over a decade. Throughout that time, we’ve worked together on a variety of musical projects, continually refining both our creative process and production techniques.
For Callen’s 2025 singles, Crooked Mess and Love Anarchy, I took on the roles of producer, recording engineer, mixing engineer, and mastering engineer. From the initial recording sessions through to the final master prepared for radio submission, I worked closely with Callen to develop his original ideas, refine the arrangement, and enhance the production by incorporating additional instrumentation and creative elements.
This project was a rewarding creative collaboration that challenged us both to push the song beyond its original concept while remaining true to Callen’s artistic vision. We’re incredibly proud of the final result and the depth and energy it captures.

Around a year ago, we released Callens debut track, “Love Anarchy” with film clip, but he wasn’t gonna stop there! So, we got straight to work again on his second track, Crooked Mess and we can’t be happier with it, and now It’s finally up! check it out on all your favourite streaming platforms!
It’s been getting some airplay on a range of stations, and Rockermag have got behind it and given the track a great write up, check that out at https://rockermag.com/an-emotionally-raw-journey-of-freedom-regret-vulnerability-and-profound-self-acceptance-callen-whiting-crooked-mess/
“Crooked Mess” immediately draws listeners in with its emotionally charged storytelling, exploring the delicate balance between liberation and lingering regret. The lyrics delve into the journey of breaking free from a past relationship or life circumstance, with lines like “One day I will leave this old place for what I forever try to chase” and “I am ready to be forever free” highlighting the desire for independence. Yet, Whiting doesn’t shy away from the darker undertones of this freedom, acknowledging unresolved emotions with “I may forever regret that day. I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m free, but I’ll never be safe,” creating a compelling narrative that is as bittersweet as it is relatable.”

Jessie Robins “Last Night” Cover And Video!
Jessie Robins – “Last Night” (Morgan Wallen Cover)
After several years, it was a pleasure to reconnect with the incredibly talented Brisbane singer-songwriter Jessie Robins to collaborate on a cover of Last Night by Morgan Wallen.
The project began by selecting the most suitable key for Jessie’s vocal range before recording the guitar parts, including both the rhythm and lead riffs, to establish the foundation of the track. Jessie then joined me in the studio to record the vocal performance, bringing the song to life with her distinctive style and energy.
Following the recording sessions, I completed the full post-production process, including editing, mixing, and mastering, to create a polished final release. The project was complemented by a professionally produced music video that perfectly captures the mood and feel of the song, adding another dimension to the finished product.
This collaboration marked the beginning of a renewed creative partnership, with several new recordings already planned. Jessie is an exceptional local artist with a bright future, and I look forward to working together on many more releases.
Queensland Churches XI – A Tribute to Billy Birmingham
Created as a heartfelt tribute to the legendary Billy Birmingham and his iconic 12th Man comedy series, this project celebrates the humour, friendships and unforgettable memories formed through more than 20 years of Queensland Churches XI National Cricket Carnivals.
Inspired by the fictional one-off clash between the Queensland Churches XI and a touring Sri Lankan side, the production captures the spirit of Billy Birmingham’s classic cricket commentary while adding a uniquely local flavour that those involved with the team will instantly recognise.
The script was written by Errol “Ekka” Steinback, while I was responsible for the complete audio production, including producing, recording, editing, mixing and mastering the project. Together, we spent more than three months crafting every line, sound effect and musical element to create an authentic tribute that honours Billy Birmingham’s unmistakable style of comedy.
This was a genuine passion project, created purely for the enjoyment of our teammates, friends and fellow cricket lovers. If it manages to bring a smile—or even a laugh—to those who listen, then we’ve achieved exactly what we set out to do.
“The Rise Of Billy Jones” Film Audio Production and ADR.
In early 2021, I had the opportunity to work on the independent feature film The Rise of Billy Jones, collaborating with filmmaker, actor and director Stevie Mac. The film follows the journey of Billy Jones, an aspiring pop star determined to leave behind his aristocratic family legacy in pursuit of his own identity, success and musical career.
My role on the project focused on Audio Production and Automated Dialogue Replacement (ADR), ensuring dialogue was clean, intelligible and seamlessly integrated into the final soundtrack. Working in post-production required careful attention to timing, performance matching and overall audio quality to help bring the film to a professional standard.
Following an extensive production and post-production process, the film was released on YouTube in July 2022. It has also been explored for distribution on major streaming platforms, reflecting the ambition and dedication behind the project.
In early 2023, a follow-up pilot episode titled Billy Jones: Malibu was released, continuing Billy’s story in a darker setting on the beaches of Malibu, California. While I was unable to be involved as extensively due to scheduling commitments, I contributed to the production, mixing and mastering of several of the theme songs featured throughout the pilot.
Projects such as The Rise of Billy Jones have allowed me to expand my experience beyond music production into film audio, dialogue editing and post-production, demonstrating the versatility of my audio engineering and production skills across multiple creative disciplines.
